UNITED KINGDOM EXTREME METAL RECORDS is a small independant label specialising in extreme metal acts from th U.K. only.
Established in January 2011, UKEM began it's existence as a small Facebook group which then quickly grew into the place to be for anything and everything extreme metal related in the U.K. A blog was then started for the purpose or reviewing bands releases, interviews and studio reports. As with the Facebook page, this was very well received, attracting over 3000 hits a month.
So we now find ourselves at a new beginning, starting the label as a very small venture, limited edition cd runs and merchandise being what we're about. Limited quantities with maximum appeal!
Debut release "DISCIPLES OF EXTREMITY Vol1” is a 19 band compilation cd featuring extreme metal bands that appeared on the download compilation of the same name (which featured 52 acts). Pre-orders for this debut release have proved to be very popular, with the release being almost sold out within one month of its release. Several items of Merchandise have also been produced, the first ‘logo shirt’ design selling out and sales of the DISCIPLES OF EXTREMITY again proving to be very popular. So the future looks good for other UKEM releases. Needless to say, every release will be about the quality, not only of the band, but the artwork, the presentation, the whole package!
The label has also released two ‘free’ download releases, DISCIPLES OF EXTREMITY Vol1 and Vol2. Both featured 52 UK Extreme metal acts and both have proved to be immensely popular releases.
We have two other cd compilation releases planned, Vol2 of DISCIPLES OF EXTREMITY and a black metal compilation titled "DISCIPLES OF BLASPHEMY”. We then plan to start releasing dedicated releases from bands.
